What to Expect

To schedule a preventive program, call The Center for Preventive Medicine® closest to you and work with the Center Coordinator to choose a convenient time. You can also obtain more information about the program {link to preventive programs} you or your employer has chosen.

Welcome Package
After scheduling your appointment and before visiting the Center, you’ll receive a Welcome Package in the mail. This package includes a detailed itinerary of your appointment day and a listing of all tests you will receive. Any individualized testing details or requirements will also be explained. For example, people who are to undergo stress testing may be asked to bring comfortable exercise clothing and shoes.

In addition, you’ll be asked to complete a comprehensive, 20-page health history and a food diary to track your eating habits. These materials must be completed prior to your appointment day and should accompany you on your visit to the Center.

Samples
We may ask you to submit blood and urine samples prior to your visit to ensure processing time so the results can be discussed on your appointment day. You can schedule a blood draw at our Center or we can send a phlebotomist to your place of work or your home, for your convenience. People visiting the Center from out of town may prefer to have a blood test conducted locally and sent to the Center or may wait and have it taken the day of their appointment.
