Appointment Day

At The Center for Preventive Medicine®, our mission is to provide you with a five-star health care experience. We are committed to making your appointment as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.

We recommend that you complete your health history questionnaire and submit it a week prior to your appointment so the physician can review it before meeting with you. Please bring any additional paperwork from your Welcome Package with you the day of your visit. Most Centers also ask that you have blood work completed before appointment day. They work with you to arrange a blood draw at the Center or they will send a phlebotomist to your home or work.

Our Centers provide you with a resting place during your visit where you can relax and unwind between testing and appointments. In an executive style lounge, you can read, check email, watch television or even take a nap when you are not in testing. Family members who accompany you are also encouraged to stay in this area.

You will also spend time in the Center’s imaging center where you’ll undergo certain diagnostic tests. Our Centers employ the most sophisticated diagnostic technologies available today to help provide an accurate representation of your health – inside and out.

As part of your program, you may also meet with a health counselor who will evaluate your lifestyle and make recommendations on diet and exercise to improve your overall health status.

You will also spend a great deal of time with a Center physician – first for a thorough physical examination and later for an in-depth consultation about the findings of the blood work, imaging and to review the personal health history you completed as well as any findings from your physical exam. The Center physician will answer your questions, explain prevention options and advise you on your health future.

You’ll also receive all test results, reports and the information compiled from your health history questionnaire in an electronic format called “MyMedDrive.” MyMedDrive is a password protected, USB "jump drive" device enabled by state-of-the-art, U3 technology that allows you to review on any Windows-based computer.
At The Center for Preventive Medicine, we develop a lifelong partnership with you and all those who visit our Centers with a 24/7 follow-up support program to keep you in the prevention loop. Using the phone or e-mail, we can provide anything from nutrition tips to exercise plans to smoking cessation strategies.
